Angry people protesting against government shutdown
Is there really a need for a government shutdown? Did it really have to reach this point? All the shutdown has done was create drama and enraged people. Peoples' lives are being affect by this and the two parties, Democratic and Republicans, can not come up with some type of an agreement that would end the shutdown. What this shutdown is doing to people is making them act out in a way that they would not do. For Example: A woman, who was being treated for postpartum distress, led police on a chase to the capital of Washington. In the back seat of her car was her toddler child. Shots were being fired from both sides. The results of the chase was not a good one. The woman died, but her toddler was not injured. So you can see what kind of an effect this has on people. Who would this affect? Well, it would affect all the families out there, our government, as well as our country. Export and Import with other countries would cost a lot more than it would have cost. As of today the government has been shut down for 17 days and everyday that it stays closed it would cost the government about $1.6 billion a week, $300 million a day, or $12.5 million an hour. On October 17, 2013 with The Senate voting 81-18 in favor of the measure, while the House voting 285-144 in favor;the government shutdown ended.
